Logging On
Logging on to iBistro is as easy as pushing a button. After accessing the MPL website, click the "MPL Catalog" button. you may also click the underlined MPL Catalog link below the button. This button and the link below are visible from any page in the MPL website. The iBistro system is programmed to time out if it is not used for several minutes. If this happens, simply return to the MPL homepage and click the button again. You may encounter a "log in" screen in order to do this. It's okay--you won't need to put any passwords in. Simply close the screen and go back to our homepage.

Beginning Your Search
Simply enter your search terms into the white box following the words "Search For." Then, click one of the buttons below to search for a title, author, subject, series, or periodical (magazine) title. Use the "words or phrases" button if you are uncertain which search to conduct.

Finding the Call Number
If your search has been successful, you will probably get a list of titles that match your search. They will usually be in chronological order, meaning that the ones at the top of the list are the newest books. Click on the blue "Details" box to the left of the entry. A full screen for that item will appear. The call number should be on the left hand side of the screen, under the heading of "Holdings." Remember, a call "number" may contain only letters as is the case with fiction titles. You may be presented with titles that are not at the Missoula Public Library or branches. These titles are held by one of our library Partners. Simply place a hold, and the item will be sent to MPL.
